61 signs you're a kid of the 90s in the Philippines.

(stolen from Rye)

1. Masaya ka kapag naglalaro ka ng Tex at Pog. Kadalasan ang design dito ay yung mga palabas sa TV, mga drama o kaya anime, may dialogue pa. lol- guilty! I loved POG! Till now I still have my collection.

2. May comics pa ang bazooka. Kahit di mo maintindihan yung Fortune Cookie sa huli ay collection mo pa rin yun. -I even keep the comics.

Favorite mo yung Sonic, Mario at Street Fighter at Tetris.

7. Nagwa-watusi ka kapag New Year kahit pinapagalitan ka ng nanay mo.

8. Meron kang sapatos na umiilaw yung swelas kapag iniaapak mo. Mas sikat kung iba-iba yung kulay.-Haha, So true. Mine was the most boring- I just had one bar of light, unlike my friends who had different shapes and colors.

9. Merong at least isang Chicago Bulls na shirt sa bahay nyo. Madalas number 23 pa yung nakalagay. -If I was a guy.

10. Pinapatulog ka ng yaya/nanay mo tuwing tanghali o hapon para raw lumaki. Hindi na kasi pinapatulog ang mga bata ngayon tuwing tanghali di tulad nung panahon natin. -I had no yaya but yeah, my parents did that.

11. Sinasabihan ka ng matatanda na may lalabas na pari o bigas sa sugat mo kapag hindi nilagyan ng alcohol pero in the end, betadine lang ang magpapatahimik sa inyo. -ooh, didn't know this.

12. Kung babae ka, nagkaroon ka ng butterfly hairclips/rings. (si Jolina ang nagpauso nito) -I didn't have one. My parents didn't buy for me eh. I did have those humongous SUNFLOWER hairclips though.

19. Bago magsimula ang klase, nakikilaro ka muna sa 10-20, jackstone, langit lupa, ice water, taguan, dr. quack quack, tumbang preso, pepsi seven up at agawan base. I miss waking up late in the morning. I hate mornings. I miss my short-lived sem break.
___

My classes this last sem of my entire under grad years:

Theo- Fr. Giordano: Someone said that he has a voice like Elmer Fudd's. I am not too sure about that but I just don't like it when
he shouts, and shouts even though his voice breaks-off almost all the time.

I am looking forward to my immersion too. I have to rethink whether I want to give myself a sunburn and some "t-shirt
tanlines" (fisher folk, farmers, etc.)
or not (prostitutes). Please, I don't wanna stay with the urban poor. :(

Pol Sci- Ma'am Salvador: Honestly, I can not keep up with her broadcaster / politician / debator communication skills.
I do not like Politics to start with. Extra tiyaga dapat in this subject cause I do not want to embarrass myself
in front of the whole class when she randomly points her finger at me to say something.

Hypnosis-Fr. Bu: Father Bu's like Gandalf in flesh. He even has a rod that he uses to make circles
in the air before class, calling the Holy Spirit to descend to our class. That same rod also serves as his walking support. Talk
about double purpose.

I'll enjoy this class not only because everything seems so laid-back (we're in a small room in the new Leong building, seated in a circle
like we're in a retreat session!) and interesting, but because I see Fr. Bu there teaching despite of his hoarse, weak voice.
Picture an old sage passing down words of wisdom and truth to you. That's the feeling. Kulang nalang thunder and lighting.

Father Bu also lost his only tooth (front tooth) this morning while eating breakfast. And is still jolly about it. :D

He also hypnotized our classmate this morning. (hand levitation).

Thesis- Ma'am Hechanova: Uhm, no comment.

Philo 103 Philosophy of Religion- Ma'am Azada-Palacios: She's O.C, articulate and cheerful. I think I'll like this class. Bulok lang
cause I am seated at the last row cause I was late. Of all the few times I've been late to class my whole college life, it's the day when
the prof finalizes the seat plan.

___

Last Sunday, one of the most unbelievable event happened to me. Probably the first and the last too.
I bagged (unintentionally) the doubles championship in a badminton tournament!!! Whoa.
I finally have a badminton trophy to put beside my sister's numerous trophies. :) I now have something to brag
about. I mean, wow could a lazy badminton player like me achieve something that great? Beginner's luck. ;)

this was taken from our Abnormal Psy teacher assistant, Ms. Joy.

-Endorphins (or painkillers) are released during long, continuous workouts, with the level of intensity is between moderate and high
& breathing is difficult.

This will take around 30 mins. I guess badminton is okay. Yeah, I do get happy after a sweaty game of badminton. I especially do get happier when I just stand & do nothing while my everdearest partner is practically at all corners of the court showing off the infamous lunges and footwork;) Oh yeah, so proud.

-The thrill of having survived a potential life threatening situation induces a positive mood state that can leave you giddy.

Think rollercoasters, sky-diving or watching a horror movie. I disagree with the horror movie. I do not want to have nightmares anymore.
Even though fear causes endorphin release, I am not that much of an adrenaline junkie to risk having nightmares and paranoia.

-Light (UV rays) can trigger endorphin production.

I'll skip this. I don't wanna get darker.

-Act of falling in love. Your heart beats faster and you become light-hearted.

It also explains why you do crazy things when you're in love. There goes the saying, "When you're in love, it shows."

-Orgasm is the peak of pain where the body explodes into intense physical contractions. After orgasm, we experience pleasure
bec. the body release beta-endorphins.

I didn't know this. Peak of pain? Dunno.

-In pregnant women, higher blood endorphins are found during active labor & highest just after birth, especially after vaginal
delivery.

One word: OUCH.

-Laugher also releases endorphines thus, boosting your immune system.

-Chilli (or spicy food) also relases endorphins.

Aww,that explains why I like Thai food now!

Grapes and oranges- Vitamin C's too.
-Eeekk. I hate oranges.

-Animal protein- ex. chicken.
Is it why they call it "Chicken Joy"?

-Dark chocolate, or any chocolate for that matter.
Yessss...:D it releases the same "in love" hormones.

Compilation of quotes I got...<3 wala lang. :D

"Staying with someone you really love even if you know its better letting go is like standing under the rain...
It feels so good but you know its not right."

"you cannot love and hold yourself back from its full force;
Love is about placing that bet, taking that risk and letting go of fear...
Love is dangerous, for it will always ask you to jump the chasm with your eyes closed...with nothing but trust to break your fall."

people say "love is the best gift anyone could have and give". my heart was crushed and
asked myself "isn't it tragic when i've got so much love to give yet no one seems to want it?"

(OUCHIEESSSS..grr)

"it doesnt matter what other people say about him,
it doesnt matter how many people will try to break us apart.
It also doesnt matter what can be written or read about him or me...
at the end of the day we are together, and what we say, we tell and we f
eel for each other is all that matters... i couldn't help it if im happy...
i can shout to the world that i am happy and in love, and you know whats the greatest feeling of all?
its knowing that, that other person loves you back. so, who cares if i shout it to the whole world"

(I like this.)

Sometimes, fate has a cruel way of putting things together.
Maybe, it's better if people just give up when there's no point in fighting for something anymore.
When the ship has finally sailed, only a fool would go after it when it's already miles away.
But sometimes, it's a lot better to be a fool to go after what we want and need,
rather than to regret everything in the end because we never even tried...

"its impossible to find somebody who will never make you cry..so.. get the next best thing..find someone who's worth all the pain."

"LOVE means trusting yourself with someone who has seen you at your worst and loves you in anyway.
It means teasing each other and laughing at inside jokes nobody but only the two of you understands.
It means feeling safe anough to talk about anything and having the patience to work out disagreements.
It means counting on someone who symphatizes when you had a bad day, worries about you when
you're gone too long and always welcomes you with open arms no matter what."

"Don't go for some who is always telling how perfect you are, because you're not.
Find someone who will tell you exactly what he thinks of you. Someone who will tell you how irritating
and impossible you can be. Someone who gives you compliments at the right time.
Someone who will laugh at your clumsiness, but will still love you for it. Someone
who would not be afraid in telling you the truth, because only those who can be honest and loyal can stay up to the very end..."

(haha is this true? someone tell me!!! haha)

"You do anything for the one you love, even if it means
risking your own freedom, letting your guard down, exposing you bare,
and making you an easy target. It doesn't mean you're weak, you're just strong enough to stand and fight for the people you care for..."

(I think this is from Spiderman 3?!?)

It's time to take action! Girl power!!!

I was so thankful that our thesis group was 'bati' na after a weekend of kinda being at 'war.' We passed our first draft with lots and lots of related lit to back up our topic.. everything seemed okay... before ma'am returned our paper.

a fat 'D' in bright red ink was staring at us.

a D?!? No way. I kept my serious, unhappy look to my groupmates until Raf went, "I am so DEPRESSION." I told him to shut up while laughing at bit. The result was SO depressing that I wanted to frown all day.

Arrggghhh..blame it on bad editing. Sheesh. I'm gonna edit the whole thing in our revised draft. I'm never leaving the editing to any guy anymore.  Grrrr... GUYS. So hard to be groupmates with them. 'Nuff said. (No offense to guys. I know there still exists nice, hardworking guys out there.)

Oh, oh... I'm gonna be the bridesmaid in Hannah's wedding next year! Please, please dear Lord, I pray that I will still be sane by February. Please don't let thesis ruin my first time (and maybe last time) being a bridesmaid...:D

Eeeeeeeeeeeekkkkkkkkkkkkkk.... I envy those who are going to the Switchfoot concert.

Catch a Falling Start by Perry Como:D

Catch a falling star and put it in your pocket
Never let it fade away
Catch a falling star and put it in your pocket
Save it for a rainy day

For love may come and tap you on the shoulder some starless night
Just in case you feel you want to hold her
You'll have a pocketful of starlight
Catch a falling star and put it in your pocket
Never let it fade away
Catch a falling star and put it in your pocket
Save it for a rainy day

For love may come and tap you on the shoulder some starless night
Just in case you feel you want to hold her
You'll have a pocketful of starlight ...Pocketful of starlight, hm,hm,hm,hm,hm,hm

Catch a falling star and put it in your pocket
Never let it fade away
Catch a falling star and put it in your pocket
Save it for a rainy day
Save it for a rainy, save it for a rainy, rainy, rainy, day

For when your troubles start multiplyin' and they just might
It's easy to forget them without tryin'
With just a pocketful of starlight
Catch a falling star and put it in your pocket
Never let it fade away
Catch a falling star and put it in your pocket

Save it for a rainy day
Save it for a rainy day
Save it for a rainy day

An LSS I would like to have over and over again;)

Someone mentioned that it is now the season of either hooking up or breaking up with someone... haha, love talaga. And here I find myself looking at my old quote folder and posting these beautiful quotes.. :D (I badly need a break from all those academic stuff...)

-It's hard to wait around for something that you know might never happen, but it's even harder to give up when you know it's everything you want..

-it`s amazing the things you realize when you lose someone:
you get mad at yourself for not saying the things you could've a million times, you take for granted the days spent doing nothing when you could have been with them. anyone can be taken, at any time in our lives, but we always wait until they're gone to say the things we never had the courage to before.

-it is pretty amazing how things just fall right into place sometimes like it just knew that's the way it goes; the way it best fits.

-Someday, someone will walk into your life and make you realize why it never worked out with anyone else... (this is so aww..)

- The hardest part is waking up in the morning: remembering what you had been trying
so hard to forget last night.

-Love isn't about the fights, the making up, the break-ups, the tears, and the bittersweet memories. It's about the trust, the will to be, the sweet kisses, those beautiful pictures, and "the stop at nothing" to get it back when it's been taken away. It's about not giving up on the one thing that gives you the will to continue...that, is the truest kind of love.

-The best part of being in love is when you just love a person and be happy about it even if you know that it cannot last forever. That is the true essence of love. It is not about winning someone. It is not about owning a relationship. It is just about being happy because you know you have loved someone. It is about being guiltless because you know you did not take away someone from anybody. You just loved... and loved... unselfishly...

-You don't get to choose, you just fall in love. And you get this person who is all wrong and all right at the same time. And you know that you love them so much except sometimes they just drive you completely insane and no one can explain it and the reason its so confusing is because its love. But if love didn't have any challenges, what would be the point?

-do not overuse your heart trying to look for the one you think you deserve. instead, u should save the best part of you for the person who deserves you.. someone who came the time you didnt search...

In our Educ Psy class, one of the topics we talked about was motivation. Hmm. What drives me? A lot of things actually, both external and internal factors. But you know what drives me nuts?? My T-TH schedule. As in. 3 classes straight w/ classrooms at the opposite ends of the Loyola schools! BEL-SEC-BEL. Before I even get to class, my legs already hurt! And today, even the soles of my foot hurt! Every T TH, I need to anything but rubber slippers, as requested by our Philo prof. I wore my Keds today and contrary to my belief that Keds were comfy and all,  they weren't. (Or Keds ko lang yun? Or there's really something wrong with my feet? haha)
My soles are now so red... :( Thank God I didn't have to take the LRT home today!

I don't really wear sneakers to school or to anywhere else... I usually wear slippers! I guess I should start getting use to wearing one. Or yet, I think it's time to buy really, really comfy closed shoes. My flats aren't that comfy too. Neither are my wedges, or whatever you call them:O Or my Converse sneakers, masakit eh- cause fake:) haha. I just want to be in my black rubber slippers... (I could walk the world with them, haha) but it's almost about to give up already. Pudpod na ang sole:) If all else fails, I'd wear my badminton shoes to school nalang.

Shoe shopping, anyone? =p (KENKEN, where did you buy those GORGEOUS GLITTERY slippers? HAHAHAHA.)

oh my. it just sinked in to me big time. I am a senior already. Time did pass so fast. ORSEM only seemed like yesterday... the days when I used to get lost in Ateneo are all now way back in the past... (actually, I still get confused between Gonzaga and Dela Costa.) I feel so old when I see more and more freshies and youthful faces around! 4th year naaaaaa. Thesis naaaaa. Graduation picture taking naaaa. Ayaw ko naaa. But I sure do wanna get out of Ateneo already... but the process, I wanna skip. But duh, as if.

I'm almost 21, but don't really act my age, in my opinion. But I think I look old, or mature...as my mom says so. Well, can't help to look more mature when life gives you a lot of thought-provoking questions and issues such as "what is the meaning of life?" or "what will happen to my future if i do this?"- which cause sleepless nights. And eyebugs. Yuck. Almost the quarter-life crisis nga pala.

Anyway, my Aunt Glory still treats me like a baby though!:) Which makes me feel kinda young.. =p

As if nothing has changed over the past 20 years, like I'm still little Margaux with pigtails, carrying a Minnie Mouse lunchbox who owns a shoebox placed in a cubbyhole at school and comes home with a Chocolait stain. (this is true!)

I got the chance to go to my uncle and aunts' house after the Celadon dept. meeting and stayed to eat. Aunt Glory still treats me like when I was in gradeschool! She asked whether my calamansi juice was too sour, prepared an extra sandwich for me, gave me a bottle of water to drink in the car going to church, checked my school bag if I brought an umbrella, reminded me to bring a jacket everyday because my umbrella is too small daw, complained that my school bag was so heavy, asked what I eat at school, advised that I should put my phone in a secret pocket in my bag, etc, etc.

Some things just never change:) I find it so makulit at times (she calls me up every week!) but really, it is sweet. If you'd figure out how much she cares, you won't be bothered by her "reminders." And yeah, her care never did falter. Awwww. Masmatindi pa sa mama ko!:)

Happy, happy!

But soooo tired from school. KO everyday, and it was just the 3rd day yesteday. My legs hurt and will hurt T-TH. Bel-Sec-Bel. 3 classes straight with a distance of... basta malayo. I think I need a skateboard or bike to get to class. :O

I know this may sound shallow but I feel so independent. I was able to drive to ADMU and bacckkk! Alone. No dad, no mom, no one! Cool. At first, I was so tense... because it was my first time. I had to leave our house 630 am because of coding. I was so afraid to get caught by the MMDA so I drove full speed, until I reached ADMU before 7.(and my class starts at 9) Whoo. Finally- after 2 years. Every fear I had before was now gone... ;) And I didn't have any more troubles in releasing the handbrake.

I was supposed to carry around a notebook to jot down my observations, learnings, etc. during my internship at Learning Partners, Special School but tinamad ako.
I'll just type some of my thoughts, observations here...

I LOVED MY FIRST DAY. Even though I just observed, didn't really handle the autistic kids yet. Had two autistic children today, one was 18, Male and the other one was 8, Male. The 8 year old kid was SO, SO, SO CUTE. He doesn't even look autistic. But he is one... he can't really speak, lack of attention, etc, etc...

My eyes were kinda "devirginized" because of the 18 year old guy who still doesn't know how to use the toilet. His case is kinda extreme na raw eh. He pee-ed on his pants. And... *bitin moment*
Weeelll, the teacher warned me beforehand that something like that would happen. I just didn't expect it to be on my first day.

-Harry, the 8 year old autistic kid hugged meeeeee... and rested his head on my lap for a while. Awwwww. I swear, ang bango niya. His case is a bit mild- he knows how to operate a microwave, wash dishes, pee on his own, change clothes, etc.

The school actually teaches them to do "normal" activities plus educate them- teach them how to write, talk, draw, color, distinguish different shapes, colors, etc. I like their program. Not bad. Imagine how much their parents pay for their schooling!!!

I just have this burden for those kids:) Someway, somehow I hope I could help them. Even though they are seen as 'abnormal' in society, when you really get to interact and stay with one, you'll find yourself changing your outlook on them. You'll learn to love them. :D

Last night, I dreamt of failing Philo. That dream didn't come true, thank God. I passed Philo!

Goodbye to my dreadest subject. (Well, it's not really goodbye bec. we still have Philo103 and 104)
Seriously, I was conditioned to fear the word, "Philo."
Yesterday, I was in National Bookstore and went to the Self-Help books, then when I turned my back, there was this book with bold letters: PHILOSOPHY staring back at me. I looked away and ran.
This summer, I shall condition myself not to fear Philo.
Philosophy 103 and 104 will be my friend. (That is if I have a good teacher for the next sem, I suppose)
Panira nga lang sa QPI ko ang Philo=(

Got high grades in my major Psy subjects. I am so proud, parang, "What happened?" :)Really, it was unexpected. Thank God talaga. Couldn't have done it without Him!

So ecstatic today. Someone wake me up! Pinch me! It's like I'm dreaming...

____

Watched Sunshine with Elvin, Mariel and my cousin Shaun the other day. It was a good movie. Didn't expect myself to last the whole while in a "space" kind-of movie since Armaggeddon.

The Cebuanos from CCFC, Cebu are finally here in Manila. Our summer conference starts this Wednesday!
Wasn't exactly feeling excited for the conference at all because of my colds but now, I'm kinda hyped for it.
Still having a heavy head and stuffy nose though.

Nice to see old friends whom I lost in touch with.
It's just wonderful that even the distance and lack of communication, the friendship still lives.
They're as eager as me to catch up with the happenings in our lives.
Our hospitality commitee brought them to MOA this afternoon. Loser me just stayed home to regain my energy
I pretty much need for being in the advanced party going to Antipolo tomorrow. Whew.

Bro. Paul Danielson aka "King Theoden/ Santa Claus" had been great so far. The guy really does have a sense of humor.
One question says it all.  =p

---
The heat has been so terrible here lately. Kahit naka air-con mainit parin!
I miss Beijing. It's okay for me to have those "chapped" hands, freezing tap water which I gargle
with and dirty Chinese toilet
bowls-on the floor... I think I could easily adapt to that than feel the scourging heat here!!! IT'S JUST SO HOT.

Speaking of heat, I can't wait to watch Fantastic4 2! Human torch!!!=p That's one kind of hotness I can bear with.

something I got over the net..

Woman,
if you get your heart broken by a man,
be strong enough to trust the hope of loving again.

Go tell the world how you feel, and the world will listen.

Don't hate the man for what he's done to you.
Instead,
feel sorry for him because he's too weak to appreciate all the good
that you have in you.

However, remember that the good man is not a myth.
All men love, but only the good ones will take a picture of you
when you wake in the morning, put it in a frame, hug you tight and say
"i never thought i deserve such a goddess!".

go girls! Girl power!

I badly want to watch a musical play again.

What's up with people? What's with my pencil case that tempted someone to steal it? Yeah, I know, it was cute- it was Hello Kitty. But WHY?
